Nestled along Portugal’s southern coast, the Ria Formosa Natural Park is one of the Algarve’s most treasured landscapes: a vast lagoon of shimmering channels, sandy islets, and rich wildlife, best explored from the water.
Departing from the Pier of Faro, these private catamaran tours offer the freedom to discover this natural paradise at your own pace, with a friendly and professional crew to guide you every step of the way. Groups of up to 14 guests can choose between two options: a half-day tour for a taste of the lagoon’s magic, or a full day of exploration for those who want to go deeper.
Full-Day Tour — 7 Hours:
For a truly immersive Algarve experience, the full-day tour gives you the time to go further and linger longer. Sail deep into the lagoon, stop at the pristine beaches of Ilha da Barreta and the tip of Ilha da Culatra, and wander through charming local fishing villages. Swim, snorkel, paddleboard, or simply soak up the sun on deck. If sea conditions allow, the tour may venture outside the lagoon for a chance to spot dolphins. A welcome drink is included on board, and you are welcome to bring your own picnic or book a seafood lunch at a traditional island restaurant along the way.
Half-Day Tour — 4 Hours:
Perfect for those with less time or travelling with younger children, the half-day tour packs plenty of Ria Formosa’s beauty into four unhurried hours. Departing in the morning or afternoon, you’ll cruise past sandy islets and turquoise channels before anchoring at idyllic spots to swim, snorkel, or simply relax on deck with a drink in hand. Paddle boards (SUP) are available on request for those who want to explore the hidden corners of the lagoon. Keep an eye out for native birds and marine life along the way, as this protected natural park is teeming with both.
